This study is a critique of the article "The Ruling on Alimony for Widows based on Verse 240 of Surah Al-Baqarah" written by Mr. Amir Mohajer Milani in order to explain the correct view on alimony for widows. Mr. Milani's article is well-researched, innovative, and accurate; however, it has some problems in its content, form and edition. Content defects are divided into general and case problems. In the section on general content problems, three problems are mentioned: "lack of comprehensive compliance", "not mentioning some of the necessary discussions" and "lack of relative stability in different parts of the article". As in twenty cases, the author's mistakes and the shortcomings of his article are presented as a case-by-case content problem. Then, the title of the article is critiqued and some formal and editing flaws are mentioned. Finally, contrary to the author's opinion, it has been concluded that according to popular narrations and opinions, verse 240 of Surah Al-Baqarah has been abrogated as edde ruling, and at the same time, the ruling of accepting a will for a wife is still valid.
